Melted Butter Restoration Instructions

Did your frosting arrive melted? Our products are coming from North Carolina and our temps can be pretty warm from mid April-late September, which also means many of our fluffy products may arrive to you melted or grainy. Grainy shea butter or crystallization occurs when shea butter melts during warm conditions, then cools back down too slowly. It happens frequently in warm weather. No worries, they are very easy to re-fluff.
  1. Pour the melted oils into a metal or ceramic bowl and mix with a whisk or fork. If your shea butter has crystallized or become grainy, please reheat your butter in a microwave safe dish in 30 second increments until completely melted.
  2. Place the bowl in the freezer for about 30 minutes, until cold but not frozen.
  3. Remove from the freezer, allow your butter to to come back to room temperature then use a hand mixer to whip back to a fluffy frosting consistency.
We do have the option available for Express shipping with a cold pack to prevent melting during warmer months.
